I am not certain what the issue is which you are having, but I can tell you we have had problems with transferring files to shares on the core server. First the UNC transfers have been unreliable unless you do so from the core itself; that is don't try to do a "drag and drop" on your PC from somewhere on your network to a share on the core. In some cases we have had file permissions messed up on the core so badly we had to copy all of the files from the share to a temp location, delete the old share, recreate it with all its permissions and then copy all the files back just to get things to be managable again. In the world of http file transfers it is important to note that IIS has a great many filters in it for LANDesk created Virtual Folders. That is probably a good thing. In order to maintain the original condition of our core server(s) we maintain a "replication" server that has IIS on it and a copy of everything on the core that we allow access to. In this way the replication server automatically pulls files from the core and all otther preferred servers get their files from that device rather than the core server. This greatly diminishes load on the core and allows us to maintain a pristine manageable core devoid of "fixes" "jury rigs" and / or "band aids".Keeping in mind that preferred servers automatically provide the items in the share being searched upon you can spin up a provisioning "Ghost Core" anywhere within the enterprise using this process.
