Re: Provisioning UEFI Enabled Systems without Bare Metal

Gru Specifically the headache of having to manually enter the machine into the bare metal profile, track down the MAC, assign it a task, etc. Our organization only does UEFI enabled systems in onesies and twosies (for now), and only for new deployments, no reimages, upgrades, or migrations. If it were bulk, sure, let's import them all in CSV and do a bare metal in one fell swoop. But for an individual slate? Shouldn't be necessary to do the extra 2-3 minutes of work just for one computer, and in an enterprise environment where we're sending out as much as 30+ computers per week, the extra 2-3 minutes can stack up.

I suppose my actual point is that other deployment technologies give the ability to natively boot to 64 bit WinPE images without workarounds. I'm trying to make a case for using OSP over MDT (our current solution), but having to come up with workarounds for simple functionality is not making it easy for me, especially when the current standard already has that working without issue.
